We manufacture our high-quality cat food from near-natural ingredients using an especially gentle process. The secret lies in the perfect recipe and in our Thermostufenmix®.

The preparation of Happy Cat dry food

Your cat loves eating dry food from Happy Cat. Perhaps you have wondered how we produce the tasty kibble? Here we explain step by step how we manufacture our kibble: from the natural ingredients through to the healthy dry food.

We use natural ingredients to prepare our cat food. These provide high-quality animal protein, which is sensibly combined with other essential nutrients. Delicate herbs, valuable oils, well tolerated carbohydrates and dietary fibre to promote digestion complete the Happy Cat dry food and supply your cat with all the vital nutrients necessary for healthy growth and a long life. The Thermostufenmix® allows us to process the ingredients especially gently. This is how our premium quality cat food varieties are produced here in Wehringen, Bavaria.

Natural raw ingredients from farmers in our home region of Bavaria

We source the raw materials for our premium cat food from carefully selected partner farms. Where possible, we source as many of the animal and plant-based raw materials as possible, such as grains, potatoes and local herbs, from predominantly regional farms.

Delivery

Short delivery routes thanks to regional suppliers

Many of our ingredients come from the region around Augsburg in Bavaria and only have to travel a few kilometers to reach our production facilities. This way, we avoid long transport routes by truck, protect the environment, and support local farmers.

Milling & mixing

The raw materials for our premium cat food varieties are carefully weighed and thoroughly mixed according to the recipe specifications. The mixture is then finely ground and mixed again, before being stored in a holding container until the next production step.

Thermostufenmix®

Gently prepared to retain vitamins and nutrients

The finished mixture from the feed hopper is first preheated with the addition of steam; in the next step, it is processed in the extruder with the addition of water and steam and then formed into the desired croquette shape. During this process, the croquettes reach a core temperature of at least 90°C.

Drying & finishing

Carefully dried & seasoned with oil

After extrusion, the croquettes are placed in a dryer. They are then refined with oils and antioxidants according to the recipe specifications. Once the coating process is complete, the feed is cooled to ambient temperature.

Packaging & quality control

For only the best ends up in the sack

The kibble is placed on a sieve and passes through metal detectors and magnets before being packaged in the respective pack sizes, palletised and wrapped in foil. Only when we are absolutely certain, following laboratory checks, that our high-quality dog and cat food has been produced to the highest standards, are the kibbles delivered.

That is quality "Made in Germany".
